Description
Just a sneak preview of what I am working on at the moment.
The tile and the heart are made of polymer clay and adorned with clock parts. Additionally, I used Modern Options Rust for parts of the heart and Copper and Green patina for the tile. The rust consists of two parts: black paint with metallic particles, which you can apply to any paintable medium. After the paint has dried, you add another solution which makes the particles rust in a short time (an hour or so).
I really love how the rust turned out! The downside is that the paint covers all the little details of the heart, but nevertheless I will experiment with this more.
The tile was stamped and then painted with metallic copper paint. After the second coat, a verdigris patina solution was applied, and the piece started to turn green after a while (also about an hour). I like how it looks, but think that this effect can also be achieved by acrylic paint, so I am not too sure if this product is really useful (compare with this piece where I just used paint).
I will add more things to this tile and turn it into a collage, so this is just WIP.
More images of these experiments with various materials can be found in my scrap folder.
